SMS Terms

GrandMailers offers an optional text message (SMS) program to make it easy for family contributors to add their photos and stories. These SMS Terms explain how the program works, what messages you'll receive, and how to stop them at any time. They work alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Opting in

Text messages are opt-in only, and you're always the one who starts them. If you'd like to contribute to your family's newsletter by text, you can opt in yourself using your family's Family Code. GrandMailers will never enroll your number for you — a family member sharing the code does not opt you in; only you can do that.

You can choose how you'd like to receive your contribution reminders — by email, text message, or both — whichever you prefer. Providing a mobile number is optional, and you only receive texts if you opt in.

What messages you'll receive

The texts are operational in nature— they help you take part in your family's newsletter. They are not marketing or promotional messages. For example, when your family's newsletter opens for submissions, you'll get a message with a private link to upload your photos and stories. A message looks like this:

You may also receive related service messages, such as a reminder before submissions close.

Message frequency & rates

• Message frequency varies and depends on your family's newsletter schedule — typically a few messages per newsletter cycle.
• Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Stopping messages & getting help

You can cancel the SMS program at any time. Just reply STOPto any message (you can also text STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT). After you do, you'll receive one confirmation message and then no further texts. You can opt back in any time using your Family Code, or by switching your preference back on in your account.

Your mobile information is private

We respect your privacy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell your phone number or your SMS opt-in. We share your mobile number only with the messaging provider we use to deliver these texts (Telnyx), strictly as needed to send the messages you requested. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Carriers & delivery

Message delivery depends on your mobile carrier's network, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SMS is available on participating carriers in the United States.
